Davy doesn’t look like this any more, but who does?? The great Monkee says a reunion tour is in the works… and I can’t wait.
Are they too old to be doing this? Sure they are and I don’t care.
I’ll try and get my sister Feriel over from Manchester and we can singalong to all those great songs: “Zor And Zam”… well, maybe not “Zor And Zam”… but “Daydream believer”! “Last Train To Clarksville” “I’m A Believer”… bring it on I say!!!
Contactmusic.com reports the 64 year old Jones saying: “We’re talking about doing a tour next year with The Monkees. There’s talk about a show with dialogue.” But the 64 year old is urging his bandmates to shape up before they hit the stage again: “My thing is I just don’t want to get on stage with a bunch of old guys.”
What he doesn’t say is whether Mike Nesmith will be joining them. I did see the Monkees once at the Hammersmith, without Nesmith, and would love to see the entire band perform. But I’ll take three quarters if I have to!
Ps I met Mickey Dolenz once when Larry Miller was named Starlight Foundations Man Of the Year. Dolenz was an unfriendly ass but Lesley Gore, who shared my table for dinner, was wonderful
