Dave Machinist Of Shinobi Ninja Discusses Charity Gig

Dave Machinist, bad ass drummer with Shinobi Ninja, is a good friend to rock nyc. He also wrote a very memorable post about his biggest musical influences around two years ago.

We've covered the band quite often but not since they've been on tour.

However, we were still really excited to hear about Shinobi's upcoming charity gig.

This is what Dave wrote to us:

Ey Iman!!!!!

Hows life dude? We've been on the road since last october and haven't looked back. Its been pretty wild man, did like 150 shows since January and a bunch of great stuff has happened to us. We rocked two back-to-back national tours with shows at Summerfest, The Warped Tour, 311’s Pow Wow Festival and Nerdapalooza. Our new video for “Rock Hood” was recently featured on MTVU.com and the song got licensed for the video game NBA 2K12 debuting October 2nd.

We've got a show on thursday Sept 15th in Brooklyn and would love to play for you. Crammed in 12 songs in 50 minutes. Our new show runs way better since the last time you saw us.

Best,

Dave

A few years ago I helped build a security wall around a poor school yard in Ayacucho Peru. That was the beginning of helping raise funds for building projects that serve orphans. We can't do it all, but we can all do something!
