Dastardly's Doing Right, January 6th at Arlene's Grocery -by Woody Fuller

While on their first east-coast road trip, Chicago’s Dastardly is gracing NYC with its presence, this week the indie folk band will be at Arlene’s Grocery Thursday, Jan 6th. For what they are trying to accomplish, rocking as an old-time, indie folk band, they are great at it. They play into their ‘back-in-the-day” roles expertly, combining their influences of Roy Orbison and The Carter Family with their slew of 6 musicians playing the banjo, accordion, and the pedal steel.

They bring the old and force it into something new. Come out and check them out at Arlene’s, and hear for yourself. And I’ll be there if you cant find time in your ‘busy’ day to make it, so check back for more on Dastardly and their up-coming shows.
