In yesterday’s New York Post, brain addled rock journalist Dan Aquilante gave Rufus Wainwright’s new album a one star review.
I’ve heard three songs and All Days Are Nights: Songs for Lulu be many things but at the very least it owns three pretty great songs.
Shall we tear it apart. Wainwright wrote a full length opera, Dan dubs that “dabbling with symphony orchestrations and operatic vocals on recent recordings”. He wasn’t dabbling you ass. And why recent? He has alwats played a classicist piano.,
“Operra obsessed vocals” says dan. That doesn’t even mean anything.
“If you aren’t already a fan every spin will be a chore” he concludes. Why? What is you like a classicists take on pop music? What’s choreful? I’ll tell you what, Dan, why don’t you go back to writing five star reviews about “This Is It”.
