According to the New York Times, Shuki Weiss, the promoter of the Pic.Nic festival, said in a statement, “I am full of both sorrow and pain in light of the fact that our repeated attempts to present quality acts and festivals in Israel have increasingly been falling victim to what I can only describe as a form of cultural terrorism which is targeting Israel and the arts worldwide.”
This is in refernce to the repulsive, racist, cynical, disheartening, anti-semetic cancellations by Costello, Klaxons, Gorillaz and The Pixies.
I find it unspeakable.
The Jewish people were almost exterminated less than 70 years ago -LESS THAN A GENERATION AGO.
It is just shocking that musicians who should be friends to israel would boycott them.
I loathed the boycotting of Arizona but not on the level I loath this.
There is no moral equivalency in the Middle East.

*Israel supports Western music.
*Iran puts you in jail or worse for playing it. Indeed, they are debating whether to simply ban all music.
*Israel supports Western culture.
*Iran once a final solution on Western culture even if it takes them with you.
*Israel are the US allies.
*Iran fucking hates the US, calls it the great Satan, and funds Hezbollah among others.
*Israel supports gay rights and is an openly gay friendly country
*Iran’s President said there are no homosexuals in the country and they may be right SINCE THEY PUT YOU TO FUCKING DEATH IF YOU ARE GAY.
