Crunkcore, a blend of hiphop, screamo, and experimental, is a smaller genre with great potential.
A questionable experiment started by BrokeNCYDE. Dot Dot Curve, who also took on the title of “crunkcore” has quite a few tolerable songs. “RocketshipToTheMoon” is catchy, and a mix of hiphop and screamo that’s fun and to some totally ridiculous. Few people I know can actually listen to this music and like it, it’s a guilty pleasure of mine. “TakeMyPicture” is probably the best song by them. Easy to like and a song that causes you to jump around in your bedroom behind closed doors and when you walk out your parents give you odd looks.
BrokeNCYDE, a bigger band in the crunkcore scene is probably my favorite. “Jealousy”, the best song by BrokeNCYDE is sure to have you hooked from the start. So incredibly unique, it takes time to get used to it. “Kandyland” makes you smile. A more mellow song from them, but still very good.
Crunkcore is weird, crazy, fun, raving, pumping, and could put a smile on your face or just make you furrow your brow.
