I follow both Aaron Stern and Craig Owens on Twitter, watch the band and Craig's separate page on Facebook, and pay attention to what the band's up to on other sites as well. Stern seems excited beyond belief about all the new stuff the band's doing- Warped, making songs, silly things on the road.
Craig on the other hand, is shamelessly promoting himself.
First of all, why is Craig doing solo shows when he's happy in his new band? Shouldn't he just be hanging out with them, playing more shows, maybe some acoustic ones instead of going off on his own?
Also, I understand announcing a show, which Craig's done. But he continues talking about it. It has come to a certain extent where it's just redundant. I find it weird how he's still doing solo stuff. The point of being in a band is to make it a collective effort…
I'm not really sure how I feel about this. I respect Craig immensely as an artist and have been a fan for a really long time, but it's weird how he's not just sticking to his band. I think he should be focusing more on D.R.U.G.S., that is his main project, after all.
I just hope that Craig remains faithful to his band and doesn't get too sidetracked by his solo stuff. Shameless self promotion may be the reason for the Chiodos departure as well. Interesting, lets see how this falls out.
