Having already been to one filming of Spectacle I have no doubt a five hour taping of an episode must have been pure torture, which is not to say the two hour finale might not be worth watching with Bruce and Elvis building to ever bigger signs of egotism (no doubt..). I haven’t seen it yet but the quotes pulled in a Daily News article today sound tasty.
For instance, I didn’t know that Born In The USA and Nebraska were initially meant to be a double album. And here is Bruce on the hype surrounding Born To Run: “Well, first you think, hmmm, ‘the future of rock ‘n’ roll.’ I kinda like the way that sounds. Then you think it also sounds like a whole s-load of trouble.”
