I would pay cash money for a peek at Coldplays contract with EMI.

EMI, on the verge of bankruptsy aand the poster boys for the major labels not changing with the times, are owed “around 500 albums” according to lead singer bedwetter Chris Martin.

He then added that Coldplay plan to release a new album by the end of the year.

EMI’s reply? “Reports that Coldplay are releasing their fifth studio album by the end of 2010 are not true.”

Translation: The band have such a fucked up contract they can’t announce anything without their labels permission.
