Cloud Nothings Impressive by Iman Lababedi

Opening the Titus concert Saturday night was a Cleveland lo-fi pop band from Cleveland, Ohio called cloud Nothings. Though live on stage they were a lot less lo fi then they are recorded and came across much closer to a pop-rock group with melodies galore and fair to middling stage charisma. They are lead by 18-year-old Dylan Baldi.
I invested in their CD Turning On (it was dylan who sold it to me!) and was happily impressed with their cool charm, especially on “Can’t Stay Awake” with it’s instasweet guitar riffs and iterated vocal (it doesn’t live up to it’s name) and “Hey Cool Kid” – a tense strummer with one of those singsongy vocals that shouldn’t work but does.
