I was a little surprised Alyson Camus did not namecheck Charlotte Gainsbourg in her Beck post yesterday. I am a big big fan of Charlotte and if you haven’t heard the Beck produced IRM you owe it to yourself to give it a ride.
I went to Gainsbourg’s second concert ever at the Highline and despite negative reviews that Charlotte was nervous and uncommunicative the day before, she had settled down by the time I saw her and twas pretty fucking great on stuff like the first single “Heaven Can Wait” and “Dandelion”. And if I woulda been interested to see her dip deep into her repertoire for something like “Oh! Daddy Oh!” I kinda get why she wouldn’t… right!!
Anyway, it’s over now and all I have to add is come back soon and bring Beck with you!!
