Sometime Bryan Ferry sounds a little Roy Orbison,
the voice jiggle sorta makes me distracted.
But there is a gruff sort of desperation in his vocals that always makes whatever he sings sound very sincere.
The thing that bothers me about this amazing song “One Night With You”, originally done by Elvis Presley, (I think) is the music.
Its too calliope sounding. As if Im riding a carousel.
At times after the breaks it almost seems like Ferry is trying to sing over it. I realize that is not the case as there are producers and mixing boards for that but its a straing to get in front.
The guitar is playing a totally different song at some points and who ever that is needs a slap cuz they’re messing it up.
Towards the end it almost sounds like a Christmas song, like a sleigh ride. Weird.
Lyrically this is one of my favorite songs of all time. More relevant than ever more heartfelt then ever.
I love Bryan Ferry. I love this song, it needs a new band though.
Cept the dude playing the tambourine sorta rocks.
