Tonight things got a bit crowded- aside from Iman and I, and Bruno of course- we were joined by Amanda Palmer.
Bruno looks a bit like a 50s rockabilly pompadore wearing fake tan crooner… I have no idea what he sings.
He thinks we’re amazing just the way we are. I think the band has matching suits and that’s sorta cute. Wait, this is the song I see quoted all over every 15 yr old girls face book page.
Ahh, a feel good mood elevating gosh darn it you’re super duper hunk of crap.
That explains the unity suits ,Well.. its a performance.
Aint as fun as Kanye that’s for sure.
Iman- he says Great Bridge on this song, that’s it.
Yeah whatever on the bridge– its yick- and as I said to him- it a teenaged girls notebook doodle, nothing more.
On the flip side we have a GREAT performance by Amanda Palmer “Party on the Internet” Ustream live
Amanda and her pals drink wine and cough and do the most happening rendition of Cabaret’ ever. You cant help but love her. Her voice is so quirky with its inopportune squeaks and blips.
This casual atmosphere is just perfect for her. Her cast of characters so fitting.
Poor Iman having to endure my rants of SHES AMAZING! I LOVE HER STOCKINGS! Shes brilliant, when all he wants to do is sack out after the gig and watch SNL (he attended the Olaf show- he’ll write about it meh..)
But Amanda in a small room with her keyboard and lots of wine single handled pulled me to her. I am sure this will be rebroadcast- and you should find it. A chilling version of “High and Dry”, literally had me burrow beneath the covers. The cracked falsetto in near whisper not only was engaging but hypnotic.
I think Iman was asleep during that part. Ok Ok he was awake but when I scream ‘SHES DOING HIGH AND DRY I know you hate Radiohead but its AMANDA!!” what better response then…………”OK”
Bruno is up again- this time hes actually moving and at closer look he appears to be about 14. Are they trying to resemble Richie Valens or something cuz its just stupid looking now. Again I have no idea the name of the song but Iman does “Grenade”… well its a bomb OK. It could be the sharp contrast of Amanda and friends to this poptart a go go Hmmm do I want a scoop of white rice or this exotic intoxicating wild rice with mystical spice?
Iman? “he was better than I thought he would be… Very good r&b tween pop” exactly.
Then he’s out like a light.
