Brooklynvegan Invade Chicago

This Monday one of rock nyc's favorite websites, the incomparable brooklynvegan, expanded their horizons and invented BVChicago,

If you don't know the original BV, there is simply no one who does what they do. According to BV himself: "is a NYC-centric mostly-music blog that focuses on reporting international music news, live show reviews, pictures, tour dates, gossip, tips, MP3's, videos, and just about anything else a music fan could want. Non-music news finds it's way on to our pages as well, and every post comes with an open exchange of ideas via the public commenting system.Though still primarily run by one person (often referred to as "Brooklyn Vegan" and/or "BV"), we've (I've) expanded to include regular and semi-regular contributors."

BV is not really music criticism, they are unwilling to get their hands dirty, but they break music story after music story and  are completely invaluable when it comes to supporting local bands. We steal their stories from time to time (always with attribution) and their pix (not always with attribution because we have no place to put it.).

I don't really get the decision to enter the Chicago market. I would have thought Los Angeles is a giant hole waiting for BV to fill it. But maybe he has connects (I also don't get the anonymity -I put my name front and center). Still Chicago is the third largest market in the country so it ain't outrageous.

I took a look at it and it appears to be, well, Brooklyn Vegan in Chicago.

Personally, I wish em all the best.
