time? Apparently you set up a free M.I.A. concert. That’s how.
I heard about the free M.I.A. show at the Brooklyn Bowl last night at
like 7pm. A couple friends and I immediately hopped in a van and headed
over to williamsburg to see if we could get in.
Nope.
The place was a zoo. There were maybe 1,500 people standing in a line
that literally went around the entire city block. The end of the line
was approaching the entrance of the place, and that was at 7:30! 2
hours before they even let anyone in!
They had some security guys walking along the line, starting at the
front, handing out wristbands to the first 600 people in line. That
left well more than half the people there without a wristband and
disappointed.
I was curious as to what time people started getting in line, so I
talked to a young kid at the front and he said he got there at, wait for
it, 2pm!!! I was shocked. I knew M.I.A. was big but 8 hours in the
cold? That’s some Beatles-type dedication right there.
Anyways, so I didn’t get in to see the show but I figured I would report
on the pandemonium created when you do a free M.I.A. concert in the
middle of williamsburg. Chaos.
