I haven’t much dug the brooklyn scene but say maybe these guys are moving dance to the next step.
Before today where was the line from lcd to holy ghost to drop the lime?
I can see it from diddy to pitbull to drop the line: how hip hop and reggaeton has merged with the more bass ethics.
And on another level, how Kanye and Kid are 808ers like james Murphy maybe.
Or on a not yet quite completed level where Drop the Lime become a hard rock group and the dance label begins to shimmer.
But LCD to Lime I didn’t quite see coming and yet where Solange and DP mix, where Anuimal collective uses the computer generated buzz invented by European DJs, where the entire scene eats its young, at the end of the day, hip hop, dance, and indie seem to be giving birth to a wild hybrid.
The only real question for right now: Kanye? Retreat or Advance?
