I’ve spent much of today trying to figure out why I love Rebirth and everybody else I know doesn’t love it so much. Here’s a reason: people expect the jail going, cough syrup drinkin, once you go blackin’ superstar to RAP MORE.
It’s a point but a crap one. The point of rebirth is this: it sounds like itself. After a year of Lil Wayne soundinglike a Snoop Dogg voice who is always so distinctively Watne they are using him for his Wayneness he finally sounds like something other:
The reviews have been a horrendous and I don’t see why that should bother us. From “Get A Life” to “Knockout” the songs work for me as songs.
