Blue October’s “Sound Of Pulling Down Heaven” : What I Am Listening To Rich This Minute by Iman Lababedi

Emotional boys these Helen Bach faves are.
I mean very emotional,  with Blue October’s lead singer given to manic depressions that equal and then beats mine.
“Pulling Down Heaven” starts with just Justin’s voice harmonizing with almost invisible back up singers and then becomes a low key rock ballad and then heavy’s up.
It’s a Cures like view, with sexy sad lines like “I wanna teach you how fascinating kissing is” and “we must be crazy.” as it movestowards the mythic. Making love traversing time and space to the,  broken hearts on shoress: I kinda get why Helen goes weak at the knees, Blue October perform a come on many a woman would love and a man might say when he can’t tell the pain from the pleasure. And they are so real even if they appear to be faking it: Justin’s backstory saves him from the charge of overstating the case. He obviously means it.
Still it is a woman’s fantasy,  a woman’s song a man would be proud to have written.
I love it.
