Put this in the things we never wanted to live to see (or hear)… Bill Cosby is releasing a hip hop album November 24th, 2009. It’s called Bill Cosby Presents the Cosnarati: State of Emergency and features guest appearances by Eric Clapton, LL Cool J and Alicia Keys.
Cosby, a long time exponent of rap, decrying its foul language and gangsta mystique, had this to say “What I like is what you’re not going to do. You’re not going to curse. You’re not going to put women down. You’re not going to put the glory of the gun somewhere. And you’re not going to put a whole lot of violence up front like that’s the thing that will cleanse you and make you feel better.”
You can stream it on Cosby’s website so I did and I can’t hear Cosby at all. It sounds very earnest and very emotionally uplifting and very, very ehhh. “Dad’s Behind The Glass” is about parents in jail and is very serious but not very good. It’s kinda funny in a totally surreal way. I’ve had more fun in Church.
