4 is one of the best albums of the year and I am not a big Beyonce fan. The record is a deep, passionate, propulsive and great sounding exploration of marital love.
And "Countdown" is a joyful noise cum nursery rhyme, and one of my fave tracks.
So what has the video got to add to the conversation? Quite a bit actually. Beyonce, with Tinkerbelle haircut, skin tight sheaths that show off her baby bump and a cuteness beyond cuteness, dances up a storm behind 60s art deco designs and leads the dancers as she advises her peers to be the flyest.
