Beyonce To Barclay Center August 3rd, 2013

Diabolically named The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour reaches, where else pop pickers?, the Barclay Center on August 3rd and what do we think?

Two years ago I would have been ecstatic with the opportunity to see Beyonce on stage after the Roseland gig where all I got to see were peoples heads but since then, I dunno, Beyonce is becoming the Queen Bee of Bad Vibes. There is something kinda nasty about the first couple of pop, condescending, a little on the Marie Antoinette side of all of this and while I will be happy to refine my thoughts if 5 is as great as 4 was.

And it might be.

Rumor has it that the Dream is all over the newbie and he always gives his best stuff to Bee so there might some killer goods in the works there. But as for the show itself?

1. Expect very expensive tickets.

2. Expect all those special effects you saw Sunday night to be rolled out.

And now you can expect some lip syncing though if you were gonna dance and sing non stop for two hours, you'd be forgiven for laying back on back up tapes from time to time.

Which leads me back to the lip-syncing: why didn't she tell the world she wasn't actually singing when people were singing her praises over Kelly Clarksons?

Really, it is just the latest of many signs of an out of control ego fronting an every woman pose. Did you read where Beyonce didn't speak to Chuck Schumer, the Senior New York Senator and the arranger of the Presidents Inaugural. Not once. And don't believe for a moment there was any POLITICAL REASON for the snub, it was arrogance pure and simple. Not to mention the repulsive hoopla around her poor daughter. Poor daughter? Absolutely, how much pressure to put on a young kid.

Whatever, I would assume it will be a very quick sell out and I would guess it will be solid but not much more musically and a visual treat.

No word on tix yet.
