I warned dja and warned dja and warned dja… Green Day at Barclays in January next year was a must see. A have ta catch. A thrilla. And if you listened to me, guess what? You won the added plus to beat all added pluses: Best Coast, purveyors of one of the best albums of the year, are he opening band.
Green Day are pretty good when it comes to opening bands, I saw Kaiser Chiefs open for em one time, Velvet Revolver another. But Best Coast I'm really thrilled about. I had a tix to see Best Coast last summer and got sick and blew it off and I was seriously, seriously bummed. The Only Place is a terrific achievement, it is like waking up on a lovely day in a terrible mood and not being able to shake it.
How you react to the concept will absolutely reflect how you react to Best Coast and the failure of the album to match the first albums may leave you hoping Bethany Cosentino fashion line goes well.
It may also leave you wondering what the hell people want.
Either way, a second opportunity to see the band, after Spider Bags, whose Saturday gig was canceled, the band I am most eager to see, is a gift. And then Green day who, whatever else you wanna say about them, sure bring it live. I can't wait.
If you didn't get tix and can afford it, scalp.
