Skins. UK, of course. I’d heard so much about it, and its growing popularity has always made me curious, even more now that MTV has done their own replica of it. Not to mention the fact that when my mom first started watching it, I wasn’t allowed to because I was too young.
Today, I spent a good seven hours of my life catching up on the first season. Wow. An edgy, brutally real television series about teenagers. Sounds like it’s been done before, right? Skins takes this to a whole new level. Seeing my peer group (so to speak) in these situations are all very true. Dealing with sensitive topics of drugs, eating disorders, love, sexuality, family, and others, Skins takes the misconcepted views of teens and sets them straight.
No way would this work with an American cast. Why even try?
New addiction? Heck yeah.
