It seems like 2014 is the year of incredible tours. It all seems so promising and exciting, and besides being pumped for the greatest lineup ever- Wonder Years, Real Friends, etc.- there’s even more impressive groupings that are making the coming year looking like an incredible one for music.
Bayside is headlining a tour. The Great American Cult tour is not only brilliantly titled, but brilliantly supported. Four Year Strong, Daylight, and Mixtapes are the supporters. This is a diverse and wonderful lineup that will not only draw the pop punk crowd, but the rougher post-hardcore crowd as well. It’s very well thought out.
Northeast dates? Pretty much just one. 4/3 – Philadelphia, PA @ The Trocadero. It seems as though this tour is favoring Texas and Florida, with multiple dates there. C’mon guys, what about us up north? They’ll probably do a smaller tour up here, but not with the same lineup. It’s disappointing and kind of a let down.
There seem to be a lot of complaints on their Facebook page about the lack of love for their home region. I’m hoping they make up for it.
Bayside’s working on interacting with their fans in a new and creative way in the “Time Has Come” cover contest. The band posted: “That’s right, we want to hear what you think the new Bayside song “Time Has Come” sounds like! We’re giving you the assets (lyrics & tabs) so you can show us your unique interpretation of the song. Bayside will be choosing their three favorite videos at the end of January before revealing the official version of the song. We can’t wait to check them out!”
It’s an adorable idea. The details of it is all here and the prizes are pretty sweet.
Now if they could just come play some shows in MA or CT…
