I've realized that there are some musicians I'll never grow out of. Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, etc. I've realized Avril Lavigne is one of those artists too.
I watched her music video for the song "Smile". The very cute idea of taking people's broken hearts and letting them be happy definitely showed that Avril has grown up. She's gone from having cutesy music videos to ones with real true meaning and emotion.
She's still the same grunge rocker underneath the pretty clothes and gorgeous makeup, but she's just so much more mature.
The song reminds me of the Avril I used to listen to every day religiously, with a bit more of a girly edge. I still love it, and it shows that sometimes your music taste doesn't completely change.
