Sam McTrusty has a cool name. He also fronts a band that knocked me off my chair this evening. Sometime I’m sent info on bands that make me scared, yet other times, like tonight. I get Christmas morning in my inbox.
Twin Atlantic are a 4pc band from Glasgow Scotland, you haven’t head of them but you should listen to them See then you can tell others about them and woop your a hero
Id think that making it big in Scotland isn’t an easy thing you got London mocking you and your accent is sorta thick and well its not all kilts ya know. Great quote sums it up from Mr McTrusty this from the bands bio:
“It’s very incestuous scene, but everybody helps each other and it’s genuine,” explains Sam. “If you’re from Scotland you’re pretty much an underdog from the start because everything’s going on in London. I think it’s awesome that there’s loads of amazing music getting made in Glasgow.”
Scotland is friendly.
You’re going to hear alot about these guys from me here and on my facebook page cuz I love them. I’ll start here just by giving you a link to their myspace then we’re going to cover their songs then Ill rant a bit about how adorable they are then I’m gonna go see them in April and we can all have a quiz a the end.
Twin Atlantic are not newbies. They have worked their asses off and honed it in creating a unique sound but not so unique that you can get your hands around it. They’re pop put they’re alive. They don’t sound cookie cutter and they don’t look it either. They’re lyrics are precise and catchy but the accented lilt makes you want to fake an accent for the day cuz it sounds so cool.
They released an EP entitled A Guidance From Colour, they have opened for the eww Smashing Pumpkins who in my opinion should be washing McTrustys car.
I am looking forward to listening to their new release Vivarium. And when I do I will tell you all about it
In the meantime check them out at “
