Aretha Franklin falls in Detroit home, breaks two ribs.
The queen of soul suffered a domestic tumble which will postpone two appearances in NY scheduled for next week, and beleagued Pol Charlie Rangel’s 80th birthday bash. Aftershocks were felt as far away as Pontiac and Flint.
Franklin, 68, suffered abdominal pain and has been advised by doctors to undergo further medical tests.
Franklin said she hopes to reschedule the New York shows for late August.
“I was very much looking forward to being in Brooklyn and having a foot-long hot dog at Coney Island,” she said in a statement. “Hopefully, I will get it before the end of August.”
