“Anyone in the mood for reunion by the Cars?”
That was the cryptic message left on The Cars Facebook page. Shortly after the band posted up a photo of the surviving four members – vocalist Ric Ocasek, guitarist Elliot Easton, keyboard player Greg Hawkes, and drummer David Robinson. They were in a studio, surrounded by instruments.
The Cars were the band in the 80s that the ‘intellectual’ new wavers listened too.
Although I loved everything prior to Panorama (but I did love the title song) to like them was a 1 way ticket to loser land.
Would I go see them? No but you may want to keep an eye on them if you’re so inclined.
Its been a very long time, and doe eyed Benjamin Orr passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2000. I’m not big on replacing original members of bands and I’m certainly not a fan of reunions of bands that have had no action since 1987.
