Arcade Fire Secret Gig In Los Angeles -by Alyson Camus

There was a twitter discussion going on this afternoon between Scott Rodger, Arcade Fire manager whom I’m following since the Vincent Moon story, and his followers.

Early yesterday, Rodger twittered ‘Where would be the best small venue in LA to do a really great show for Arcade Fire? Any ideas?’

And many suggestions came
Someone suggested the legendary studio 33 at CBS Television city in LA, where Elvis himself played, but Scott thought it would be too small, then said he would look into it.
The El Rey was mentioned, … but was found too obvious
Ford Amphitheatre,… too many issues with residents
The Smell… was not available.
The Disney Hall,… too much of a production.
La Brea Tar pits,… not enough time to set it up.
The Troubadour,…. some people like it, some don’t.
The London Hotel rooftop,… too tough on availability.

There was an avalanche of suggestions: The Paramount back lot, Largo, The Getty, the Bootleg Theater, Broad Stage in Santa Monica (Colin Hay just played there), the Standard, the Santa Monica Pier, the Orpheum, the Natural History Museum, the Queen Mary, the MOCA, the Getty….

All I can say is that a person suggested Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and Rodger said it was definitively worth the call.

So there’s gonna probably be an Arcade Fire secret show in Los Angeles very soon (he said it would be too short notice to go custom and get a permit in case it is not a place already set up for concerts), and it may be on Oscar day, February 27th…

It’s gonna be in a small place (around 500) and it may be at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery,… or not! I guess it will be pretty impossible to get tickets.
