Several years ago I went to a double header at Radio City Music Hall. The Strokes and the White Stripes. The Strokes were up first and lead singer Julian Casablancas had broken his foot. So he rested on a stool for the entire set. And the Strokes were so much better than the White Stripes it was embarrassing.
I’ve never much cared for the White Stripes ever since but luckily this is about two bands I love. The Strokes playing MSG friday April 1st, for their highly anticipated return, LCD Soundsystem playing the following day for their highly anticipated last concert ever.
I remember once going to Shea to see The Mets vs the Yankees and then going to Yankee Stadium to see the Yanks VS the Mets. This is similar. Or a coupla years ago there was a big horse race the same day as a big football game as a Yankee over three days.
This feels like that. A huge two days for rock fans in the big apple.
