When the Heart Emerges Glistening by Ambrose Akinmusire – Stunningly beautiful 28 year old trumptet improvisor is old fashioned to the hilt, but ahis sound is crystal clear and timeless. Gonna be huge in certain circles. Not released yet -I was about to buy it.Vampires and Informers by Elephant Man – Rub-a-dub dance hall mix guesting at the underworld.
A Wall Street Odyssey by Epigene – This is why prog rock and musicals don't mix: either too much twiddling or too much detail.
Creep On Creepin' On by Timber Timbre – Canadian folkies have listened to Leonard Cohen but don't kno what to do about it
Death of a Decade by Ha Ha Tonka – Pretty good rock band doing what rock bands, overwriting but getting enough killer songs to justify its existence. I am gonna pick up a coupla tracks at some point.
Black Shark by Hammer No More The Fingers – Worst named band either but pretty effective guitar based rock ordinaire.
Linda Vista by Henry Wolfe – Tweeish songwriter might repay closer listen
Only The Lonely by UNKLE – These guys were really cool once and this is an impressive electronic roar.
