I ‘unfollowed’ Amanda awhile back.
I found I was losing respect for her ‘in crowd’ Twitter antics.
At first she fascinated me, Ive been such a fan for so long.
I found her beautiful and intelligent.
Yet after following her on Twitter for just a few months my entire opinion of her did a 180.
I don’t want to be an Amanda Palmer fan.
There was a time when I was frantic to see her or The Dresden Dolls live.
What a dream come true that would have been. Again, as such a die hard Dresden fan, I actually started arguments over my shock that EVERYONE didn’t LOVE them as much as I did.
Everyone sucked but me.
But in just that short bit of time I found that whole ‘hipster’ persona in full swing. I saw the clique behaviour that I actually felt DD was against.
I cant say it was bitchy but I can say the circle is definitely closed.
What a shame.
I have tried to listen to DD and Amanda and even watch this video without the prejudice of knowing the performance is really an act a true ‘performance’.
But I cant.
Its a fucking joke.
