Amanda Palmer, Old Chum

Money makes the world go round? No. Art makes the world go round. So, after making the world safe for radiohead haters to listen to Radiohead with her fabulous ukeleled interpretations, the former Dresden Doll is mounting a performance of the Kanders and Ebb 3rd Reich Germany setting “Cabaret”.
“Cabaret” belongs to Bob Fosse of course, both the movie and the 90s revival with the late, gifted, actress Natasha Richardson and Alan Cummings devastating MC. Still, a reworking of Fosse’s award winning template.
So with all due love and affection, I am clueless as to what Miss Palmer can add to the musical. Hmm, she is playing the MC… that should be interesting She is working with her High School drama teacher… that should be. Well, I don’t know what that should be.
