All The Best Of 2012

Best Thirteen Minutes: Kanye West blowing every one else off stage at the 12-12-12 benefit. It is hard to imagine a less audience, or world friendly, set: he segued from one hit to anopther with arrogance and power in a leather skirt and a hard bass thump, then threw down his mic and stormed off stage. Perfection.

Best website: Pop Dust is the most fun on the web, from K-Pop to Uk's X Factor, it is all the hits all the time, it looks great. Witty, irreverent and just plain awesome.

Best rock nyc Post: Mary Magpie on Conor Oberst's Boston Orpheum gig was so deeply felt and emotionally naked it teetered on the edge of embarrassingly naked but never fell over the edge.

Best rock nyc shout out – Joe Steinhardt at the For Science gig.

Second Best rock nyc shout out – Micky Dolenz twitter of my Monkees review.

Best Free Show: Arlo Guthrie and family at Summerstage. He wasn't half as good at Carnegie Hall Thanksgiving.

Best riot: Fans at Jack White's Radio City Music Hall gig after he didn't perform an encore. They wouldn't let the pizza deliveryman get backstage.

Best Rolling Stone Song Performed Live: "Going Down" at Barclay's.

Second Best Rolling Stones Song Performed Live: "You Got Me Rocking" at 12-12-12

Best (well, Most) Between Song Patter: Barbara Streisand at Barclay Center
