All American Rejects "Walk Over Me" Reviewed

The All American Rejectsreleased a new single and music video for their tune "Walk Over Me". I was expecting some tune that sounded just like their more populartunes, because I thought they'd play it safe.  I’d been disappointed withtheir previous releases, and I figured that this would be no different.  I was totally wrong.

The song is absolutely wicked.  It's catchy but not cliche, has a great beat, and it's just so fun. The composition is packed with incredible riffs and bits of musicianshipthat I didn’t know the band was capable of.  It is entirely unique toanything they've ever done, exploring both the quick and entertaininglymusically clever chorus, to a passionate, charged bridge.  The guitarsshred, the bass is deep, and the drumming is ridiculous.  It keeps the happy pop rock feel AAR is knownand loved for, but has hints of maturity and a better standing in the genrewhere they're confident enough to do something this fabulous.

The video is unlike anyother I've ever seen. The artistic aspect keeps it incredibly interesting andcaptivating; I found myself smiling as I was watching it.  The story ittells is wicked cool, and the angles of the camera are perfect.  Theattention to detail in each frame is often lost due to carelessness, but thisvideo is carefully constructed and perfect. The vibrant colours make itmemorable, too.  You can tell that theband had fun shooting it, because they’re really into it.

This song and video areabsolutely brilliant. Check it out here
