My next musical adventure is seeing the band Alesana.
For the fourth time.
This is one incredible band with a small but mighty following. Years later still playing the same rotting clubs over and over. They were fantastic at Warped Tour both times I saw them.
I will forever regret not seizing the opportunity to interview the band that skanky hot day in July at the 2010 Warped Tour.
Set up with the honor system sign up sheets back stage we charted our interview and set times with military precision.
So we may have spoken with Never Shout Never among many others but Alesana was in the wrong time slot. So we took the pass.
For over a year now I have been dicked around by the ‘handlers’ of this band. A shame really. In this industry of egos bigger than my ass, the option is ignore.
A simple ‘no can do’ would halt my requests.
Simple.
As a blogger we have some strange terrain. Yeah, I can call you out on it, but here is where we differ. i have no rules, I draw no paycheck from this, my medical benefits aren’t subsidized by this blog. It doesn’t pay my mortgage, provide me soy, or support my shoe addiction.
But, I have professional integrity.
I will not post your email nor will I divulge your secrets.
But I will say its disappointing.
I deal with so many different firms and have met so many incredible people that this is more of an annoyance than anything else.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the band again. We’ve covered them numerous times and will continue to support and promote them strongly.
Which is more than I can say for their hired help. Perhaps one day Alesana will be properly represented and get out of the piss stained rotted clubs and get the recognition they deserve.
