Album Round Up

Helplessness Blues – Fleet Foxes – harmonies prevail in this sixtyish folk rock songs. At its best the closest it keeps to the rule. Grade: B+.

The Complete Robert Johnson recordings – My third format for this absurdly timeless blues. Believe it or not I've read complaints. COMPLAINTS? Grade: A+

So Many Funerals – Maynard And the Muskies – "There's a minor chord I'd like to strum but I never reach those strings…"? Grade: A-

Crazy Rhythms – The Feelies – One of my fave albums, I've been planning to buy it on Mp3 for a year or so. It is a choppy, syncopared, anti-rockist, cool thru conjecture alt rock album by prep school drop outs. Grade: A

Sit Resist – Laura Stevenson And the Cans – This isn't as good an alt folk indie by definition rock album as I think it is. Grade: A-

The Wombats Proudly Presents: The Modern Glitch – The Wombats – On the other hand, this isn't as bad As i claim it is. I can't quite hear it and I don't know where. Anything with a chorus that starts "Last night I dreamt I dreamt I died alone…" has more going for it then I am claiming. Grade: B+
