Sideman extraordinaire Alan Hampton, he has played with the likes of
Gretchen Parlato, Sufjan Stevens, Clare and the Reasons, Robert Glasper and Elizabeth & the Catapult, has his first solo album, The Moving Sidewalk, about to drop.
The record release party is at Joe’s Pub on January 3rd and the first song, a pretty awesome, pop spillage, side effects woooshing “Change Your Mind” is a tasty morsel. His vocals are indie sweet nd the sound is coming from somewhere but I am not certain where, it is so ecoey it appears simple but there are layers upon layers.
