Apparently being told Adam Ant’s great comeback concert would be at a Church Hall in Portsmouth, wasn’t enough to clue the twit in to maybe, just maybe, the audience would be Cjurch Of England.
Ant covered “Sympathy For The Devil” (but why? what’s that got to do with anything?) and got booed for his efforts… Said the former Stuart Gossard: “I’m a punk rocker. I don’t do Christian. You can fuck off to the church.”
Adam Antt punk rock? I know he began his career in punk bands but he made his name as a member of the sartorially challenged New Romantics.
Tonight Ant is playing the Islington Mosque and rolling out his newest hit: “Mohammed Is A Punk Rocker”. Then they’ll bury him next to Mclaren.
