Active Viewin': Pick Concerts, Week Of October 29th, 2012

It is apt that Hurricane Sandy is bearing down upon us ready to wash out two, maybe three nights of concerts in nyc -apt because Wednesday is Halloween and it blows away the unlucky prome Smashing Pumpkins from the Pick of the week. for their Halloween gig on Wednesday at Barclay center. With visuals by the guy behind the Wall. And two parts. One the newbie, which isn't bad, and the other hits which s better.

Monday – Idina Menzel – Carnegie Hall – The Wicked Witch of the West, or last years Lea Michele (or was that Lea Michele?) Cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy

Tuesday – Cypress Hill – Best Buy – Roll out the blunts

Thursday – Meatloaf – Beacon Theater – If the Pumpkins are rained out, I might try this. Last time I saw him he was ghastly but I might try it,  after all not only did Spotify call "Paradise By The Dashboard" better than sex, but ITunes called him a "Wild combination of Yes and Born To Run era Bruce Springsteen".

Friday –  Ra Ra Riot –  Vassar College Vhapel – Things to do in Poughkeepsie when you're dead

Saturday – The Jon Spencer Blues Band – Webster Hall – One good hurricane deserves another

Sunday – Uriah Heep – BB Kings -Crunch English metal -ever so 'umble
