It is March Madness at the Beacon and after screwing it up the last coupla years I got a tix on the Amex presle and nabbed the Friday 8th gig. if it is half as good as when I saw em in 2010 a splendid time will be had by all as we boogie long into the night.
Monday – Vintage Trouble – Highline Ballroom – Yo're chance to see the great R&B band a lot closer than oepnning for the Who last december.
Tuesday – Marsha Ambrosius – SOB – Pretty good when I caught the English soul belter a coupla years ago and no reason to expect she is at least as good right now.
Wednesday – Strip Strip Hurray – Gramercy – Dita Von Teese – Not music? Wear your walkman while you watch!
Thursday – normal Living – the alphabet Lounge – I'll be at the carnegie Hall the roots tribute Prince gig at Carnegie Hall, but my heart will be with these popstars in waiting.
Saturday – David Johansen – Mexicali Live – Hey, David always gets the shout out at rock nyc.
Sunday – The Jeffrey Lee and Peter Stampfel Band – great American folk and the start of another type of march madness, a one more residency.
