I am blowing off the Vaccines to see blues singer Trixie Whitley at Le Poisson Rouge on Thursday. I caught Trixie at Rockwood last June and was suitably awed and await her first album Fourth Corner out on Tuesday. LPR is down to SRO tix and I still recommend you go and see this extremely talented, ready to break 25 year old.
Monday – Tegan And Sara – Bowery Ballroom – One song does not a band make but still… "Closer" is a helluva song.
Tuesday – Strummerville – Bowery Electric – They've added an 11pm show but we ain't leaving till they play "Johnny Appleseed"
Wednesday – Ed Sheeran – Radio City Music Hall – From Mercury Lounge to Radio City in a year! Plus? rock nyc's Winner of the week!
Friday – Wayne Shorter – Carnegie Hall – With a Chamber Choir quartet… you gotta wonder about this!
Saturday – fun – Radio City Music Hall – Would appear to be the bands natural habitat.
Sunday – Santos Superbowl Half Time Show – Santos Playhouse – At least Andrew WK probably won't be lip syncing.
