The best thing to come out of X Factor UK, yeah, better than 1D, hasn't cracked the US yet so on Thursday you get to check him out at Webster Hall instead of Hammerstein Ballroom or beyond. Sharp electro pop by a guy with more than enough personality to stand out always.
Monday – Christopher Owen – Bowery Ballroom – The album is a touch to disappointing but if he puts on half the show he did last year at LPR this should be a great night.
Tuesday – Ellie Goulding – T5 – Loved her opening for Katy Perry back when but I wonder about a sold out T5? I wonder but I'll be there.
Wednesday – Soundgarden – Hammerstein Ballroom – I haven't seen em in decades and I didn't much care for the last years albums, but they will bring it live no doubt.
Friday – The XX – Hammerstein Ballroom – It took awhile, but "Angels" turned me around on this bed. No high hopes for the live show.
Saturday – Femi Kuti And The Positive Force – Webster Hall – Fela's eldest son continues the legacy with more power than the Marleys or the Hank Williams have managed. SO go and support the West African musical force.
Sunday – Tony Bennett – New Jersey Performing Arts Center_ the man isn't getting on, he is on. So one more time, go represent.
