It just goes to show that with all the will in the world, you miss great, great bands. Mr. M. is Lambchops ELEVENTH ALBUM. And the first time I've heard them and I've been spinning around their catalog and it is ridiculously great. First jeffry Lewis, now Lambchop -geez, maybe I should hang up my typewriter. Lambchop are playing the Bell House on Friday and if I am making the trip to Brooklyn, so should you.
Monday – Mayer Hawthorne – Webster Hall – Blue eyed soul inches away from world domination.
Tuesday – Neon Trees – Bowery Ballroom – They were as glammy and awesome as you thought they would be when I saw em a coupla Halloweens ago. And they have a new album coming out soon.
Wednesday – Tower Of Power – BB Kings – Horns and funk and more horns. If you haven't seen em it is a must see.
Thursday – Nickelback – Madison Square Garden – Or Creed at the Beacon… who am I to judge your crappy taste in rock and roll.
Saturday – New Edition – Theater At MSG – When i saw em in the arena 15 years ago, I was sitting behind Whitney Houston and Blackstreet were opening (remember: You say coffee, I say BLACK) and I was the only white guy in the audience and the place was sold out. Just daying.
Sunday – The Drums – Webster Hall – One of the greatest rock bands around and genius on stage
