This is a 7pm show at Sidewalk Cafe (Avenue A) so my plan is to rush their Friday night, catch the great rock and roll voice Eric Contractor perform, I haven't seen him in years, than rush over to MSG for Pink. I recommend you do the same thing but if you can only do one, this man has the voice of a young Orbison and looks like a young Clark Kent. Do your very best to represent for the big guy.
Monday – Savages – Bowery Ballroom – The UK post-punk all girl rock band managed by Muse manager John Best are so hot I couldn't get into their CMJ gig last year. But we can all get into this one.
Tuesday – Fountains Of Wayne – With the reputation of being the biggest assholes in the business, and not nearly as good as they need to be to get away with it. Still, the band can write a song.
Wednesday -Sky Ferreira – Bowery Ballroom – Might as well just leave your bed at BB next week. The soon to be very popular singer songwriter.
Thursday – Rakim and Raekwon – Stage 48 – The integrity side of rap. Raekwon has a pretty good new album just released and Rakim is, well, Rakim.
Saturday – Tyler The Creator – MHOW – What I've heard of the newbie isn't as good as Goblin. So this is a big gig for Tyler fans.
Sunday – Alt-J T5 – If it wasn't a Sunday and if it wasn't T5 I might have checked out this years Radiohead hype.
