Electric Endicott – Gary Wilson – An eccentric? Absolutely. This is like harmolodics, everything seems inverted. You could imagine Wilson composing open chord harmolodics workouts,or collobarating with Glenn Branca, or hitting the magic sound for everybody. I can see why you might not love “Where Are The Flowers?” as much as I do, with its vocal progression and oddly tuned horns. But I could also see why you would love it. Grade: A
Love In Time – Eric Bennet – If you consider Raymond Vs Raymond a soul album, you haven’t listened to it. It’s a dance album. This is a 70s style soul album and the very best of the year. Grade: A
The Beginning – The Black Eyed Peas – The first two songs, especially the Dirty Dancing one, were a feint followed by a mistake. Everything else is aces just waiting on Guetta’s touch. Grade: A-
No Mercy – T.I. – First fit glances backwards before moving forward, then it is pre-shadowed by events, and then it is foreshadowed by events. And then it is inertia. A disastrously boring hip hop album by the numbers. Grade: B
Anti 2010 -Fall Sampler – Moses Allison, Mavis Staples, Grinderman, Dr. Dog… and more…. $2.99. What’s not to like? Grade: B+
