Active Viewin': Concert Picks Week Of February 11th, 2013

Actually, I have tix for Lulu at BB Kings and Maroon 5 at MSG, so I plan to stay with Lulu till around 915 and then dash like hell to MSG and miss the first half hour or so of Maroon 5. M5 are awesome live and Lulu is a legend and I just have to see the Shout-er whose personal life alone reads like a who-whos of 70s rock. Being married to Maurice Gibb is one thing, dating David Bowie something else entirely. And managing both in one life time…  Anyway, Friday night. M5 is sold out so if you don't have a tix choose Lulu.

Monday – Dead Kennedy's – Gramercy Theater – Jello Biafra still too drunk to fuck? Suck it and see…

Tuesday – Mumford And Sons – Barclay Center – New York Post trashed em bad last week, but I thought they were OK when I saw em last year. True it was a three song set…

Wednesday – Sound City Players – Hammerstein Ballroom – I wouldn't go on a bet but Alyson liked it fine

Thursday – Toro Y Moi – Webster Hall – There are less romantic ways to spend Valentine's Day than with this mellow vibe soundscape merchant.

Friday – Savoy Brown – The Iridium – UK headbangers perform 8p and 10p sets

Sunday – Cute Is What We Aim For – Gramercy Theater – Apparently the 2005 revival is in in full swing.
