Leonard Cohen Returns To The Scene Of The Crime: Radio City This April

I haven’t seen Leonard Cohen since 2009, when I called him boring on this very website and  got viciously savaged by a Cohen website, for one reason, calling him a tenor when he is of course a bass.

It was the half hour intermission  that got to me and since I wasn’t at the time the big fan so many other people are. Put it this way, I knew the greatest hits and had never seen Cohen live before. Still, I was confused enough to check Cohen out a second time a couple of months later and still remained highly doubtful.

But four years of running a music website, and in the middle of Sylvie Simmons excellent Cohen biography “I’m Your Mind” and while I wasn’t wowed by his 2012 Old Ideas, I did love “Different Sides” and again, I think I may have underestimated the album. I just hate consensus as a concept and the more people rave, and people sue rave about Cohen, the more likely I am to head for the exit.

Still how can you dislike the man who wrote “First we take Manhattan”.

So anyway, like I was saying, I grew to love Cohen over the past four years and am ready to try it again and admit my sins. At the scene of the crime, Radio City Music Hall, on April 6t
