1. I'll Go Home With Bobby Jean – Gene Kelly And John Gustafson – And Van Johnson, ripping up this Lerner And Lowe classic to the morning of a marriage (conceptually not a million miles away from "girls come and kiss me, tell me you'll miss me") from "Brigadoon". A Vincent Minnelli disaster of epic proportions that survives as both gilded and bright and shallow and dark. The song is a blast – Grade: A-
2. Fuckin Problems – A$AP Rocky – Lamarr steals it and the chorus is catchy as hell – Grade: B+
3. Don't Deny Your Heart Joe Goddard Remix – Hot Chips – Popular disco band has one of their own do the remixing with pretty damn good results opening with an extended tomtom track and including some Samsa styled organ before you reach the end – Grade: B+
4. Violence – Darren Haynes And The Long Parliament – English non-denominational folkiness with a a sense of impending drear – Grade: B+
5. Locked Out Of Heaven – Bruno Mars – It sounds an awful lot like the Police, which may explain why I don't buy in – Grade: C-
6. Matchstick – AMerican Royalty – They've seen fire and they've seen rain and are chasing strawberry field but nothing to get hung about: Grade: C
7. Wait For The Man – Fidlar – Alyson faves from two years ago – Grade: B+
8. Diamonds – Rihanna – Did you know Sia wrote this? – Grade: B
9. Tucumcari – Freedy Johnston – "Snapping her jeans while the jukebox plays 'I Love You Just The Way You Are'" – Grade: A
10. The Farthest Light – Freedy Johnston – He should have been as big as Marshall Crenshaw should have been big, and this is one of the greatest songs you've never heard with a metaphow so elegant aand lovely it haunts you years later- Grade: A+
