Sure United Palace was a crap idea in 2010, but I didn't go so what do I care. I did go to the Bros in 2011 and raved about it here. The plan was to pay a return visit in 2012 but I ran out of time but not this year. I bought a tix ($120! Holy Hell) for Friday March 8th. 3rd row lower balcony and I could've gotten 18th row orchestra but consider the overhang, folks.
The Allman Brothers are a reliably great Southern boogie band. Were they better with Duane? Of course they were. Were they better with Dickey Betts? They miss him most from the days when he played with Duane but solo… I am a big big Warren Haynes fan myself and. I dunno. I wish they were both in the band.
But this is nitpicking of course. If you love this stuff you will be there of course, The Allmans' Beacon dates are: March 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 15th, and 16th. Incidentally, are you going to the clapton crossroads gig at MSG in April. The Allmans willbe there as well.
